Selma Fids (Needle) are made from highly polished stainless steel. This is a Norwegian product and patented world wide. Selma Fids (Needle) are on offer in sets of five. The set is covering the following lines and ropes: Hollow braided lines – 3.5 mm (1/8 in.) dia. For heavy ropes there is a large Fid made in nicol plated brass. This can be used on the following ropes: Hollow braided lines up 20 mm (3/4 in.) Double braid line (Samson) up to 32 mm (1 1/4 in.). Three stranded ropes up to 36 mm (1 1/2 in.).

Made with safety on board in mind, this patented set of five fid will handle yacht line and hollow braided lines from 3.5 to 14 mm diameter as well as three stranded twine or rope up to 28 mm diameter.
Selma Fids (needles) are a unique, patented Norwegian designed fid for hollow braid, double braid and three strand lines. Made from highly polished stainless steel over nickel plated brass. The five-piece set contains fids for hollow braids or double braids from 3.5mm to 14mm or three strand up to 28mm in diameter. Simply feed the line into the hollow center of the fid and use the hook to hold it in place while you splice away. Superb quality, Selma Fids are considered a 'must have' in every splicers kit.
These highly polished, stainless-steel fids make burying line much easier. Fids work with 1/8"–7/16" single braids or 1/4"–9/16" double braids. Set of five for line diameters:
